A civil engineer from the college of Engineering, Pune, Mr. Satish Parakh joined Ashoka Buildcon as a Junior Engineer in 1982 when the company's turnover was barely few crores of rupees and the portfolio comprised just Residential and Commercial Construction Projects. Today, he is at the helm of affairs as Promoter and Managing Director of Ashoka Buildcon Ltd., a company which secured consolidated turnover of Rs.2000 crores and has established itself as one of the leading Infrastructure Developers in the country.

It is Mr. Parakh who led the Company's Diversification in the Power Development Sector and has also garnered various equity investments including the largest Equity Investment in the Indian Highway Sector, amounting to Rs.800 crore by SBI-Maquarie. Under his leadership, the company has won many prestigious awards and has recently been awarded by CIDC as 'Industry Doyen' in the Infrastructure Development Sector.

Besides being associated with Ashoka Buildcon, Mr. Parakh is Vice President of National Highway Developers Federation of India and is contributing by directing the efforts of the organisation towards development of PPP scenario in the country. He has officiated as Chairman, Institution of Engineers (India), Nashik Centre, where Ashoka Buildon has built a state-of-the-art Conference Hall for the city. He has also established the Ashoka Highway Research Centre (AHRC) which is focussed on exploring better construction methods for Highways in the country and in reducing the carbon footprint during constructions. Through AHRC, Ashoka Buildcon has been able to introduce various recycling methods for the Highway Construction.

Mr. Parakh always initiates to bring in new technology for the eco-friendly construction and his company was the first to introduce in India the Pre-Fabricated Arch Structures for Underpasses on National Highway.

He also heads the Human Resource Department as Director HR. He believes that Human Resource is the most critical aspect of the organisation and should be given extraordinary attention. He has spearheaded a number of environmental initiatives with dynamism in the corporate sector and excellent rapport with civil administration at local and state levels.

Under his guidance, Ashoka Buildcon has conducted major social campaigns like Road Safety Awareness programs for Road users and drivers, Health check-up camp for road users and many more. Apart from these, he launched the "Citizen Awareness Against Plastic' mission in association with the Nashik Municipal Corporation. He also spearheaded the Ashoka's participation in the Billion Tree Campaign by UNEP and ensured uplifting of living conditions at labor camps by providing all requisite necessities and facilitated education to their children.
