“We at SCL see Indians as very prudent buyers. When they weigh and see the benefits of uPVC against normal wood /aluminum doors and windows including its health benefits, they finally choose uPVC doors and windows as they know it is a good investment irrespective of price. Currently, this market in India is in its nascent stage but we see great potential in the coming years as people are getting more aware of the benefits of this product. India being a price sensitive market and reluctant to adopt new technology; how do you see uPVC market in India, in terms of the products understanding and its proper usage?
We at SCL, see Indians as very prudent buyers. When they weigh and see the benefits of uPVC against normal wood and aluminum windows including its health benefits, their choice is very clear of CORA uPVC performance windows as they know it is a good investment irrespective of price.

Currently, the uPVC market in India is in its nascent stage. We see great potential in India for Cora uPVC Performance Windows. At this initial stage, we see a limited no. of uPVC products being introduced in the market. This will change as more acceptability of uPVC is there.

What are the main advantages of uPVC over other traditional materials in terms of cost-effectiveness, aesthetics and green attributes?

What are the major challenges in marketing these products in India?
Aluminum Windows
Challenges are very basic, yet they are big. Lack of public awareness, cost of product, constant comparison with aluminum and wood attribute to some of the major challenges.

What are the quality standards placed in the company and how these are competitively positioned?
Quality control is done by the profile manufacturers with surprise visits to installation site and factory to see if the quality objectives of the profile manufacturer are observed and met. This ensures best quality standards are maintained during fabrication and installation.

As the profile manufacturer also makes the hardware for their profiles the quality control is complete.

How is your organization educating or imparting knowledge to the architects/planners for the right usage/application of uPVC?
Our endeavor is to impart knowledge of the benefits of Cora uPVC Performance Windows to the public, Architects using printed media, electronic media including participation in shows like Delhi Build, ACE and ZAK.

What are various sales services being provided? Do you have your own installation team?
We provide complete services from helping in design cost effective Cora uPVC performance windows to selection of glass, site visit to check the openings, installation at site and quality control. All our windows come with a 10 year warranty on profile and one year on hardware.

After sales service is provided by our sales office in Noida.

What are SCL’s business prospects in the next two-three years, its future plans in terms of market expansion and new products launches?
In the next two – three years, the Indian uPVC market will mature noticeably as people will be more aware of the product. We at SCL, expect a growth rate of 30% during this period.

SCL is actively perusing market expansion by appointing dealers, distributors and franchises.
