Bidders shortlisted for Goregaon Mulund Link Road Tunnel Construction
NCC, Larsen and Toubro, and Afcons Infrastructure are among the three bidders who have submitted their proposals for the construction of twin underground tunnels as part of the Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project. The estimated investment for the project is Rs 8,550 crore. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is currently evaluating the bids and expects to finalize the selected bidder soon. The project faced delays due to environmental clearances and permissions from the forest department. The revised environmental requirements include the presence of water flow pipelines beneath the tunnels. The tunnels, with a diameter of 13 meters, will span 4.7 kilometers and pass under the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. They will be built using Tunnel Boring Machines and feature advanced ventilation, lighting systems, and electric surveillance.
