MoRTH approves Rs 300-cr to rebuild bridges in HP
The Union Transport ministry has approved Rs 300 crore for the reconstruction of bridges damaged by the recent flash floods in Himachal Pradesh. The funds have been sanctioned under the Setu Bharatam Yojna for reconstruction of damaged bridges connecting national highways across the state, state PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh informed. A large number of roads and bridges under NHAI and the local Public Works Department have been damaged in the recent flooding, causing an estimated damage to road infrastructure worth Rs. 2,000 crore.
