ICEMA’s CE Technology Summit underscores importance of jobsite safety & efficiency
Highlighting jobsite safety and efficiency, ICEMA's first CE Technology Summit has focused on establishing norms and regulations to ensure the safety of off-road segments, including operator and equipment safety. The one-day summit held discussions on ensuring safety for operators, equipment and the job environment. CE industry stakeholders advocated for enhancing safety, boosting productivity and championing sustainability in their operations. The panel also deliberated upon technology-driven solutions aimed at enhancing equipment and jobsite efficiency. ICEMA President V. Vivekanand stated, “We need to focus on the Technology Vision Roadmap, with safety at the forefront, and embrace sustainability to create a better world for future generations. We must promote adoption of cutting-edge technology. The Indian Construction Equipment industry is poised to become a beacon of innovation and sustainability.
Addressing the gathering, Convener-ICEMA Technology & Sustainability Panel Dimitrov Krishnan said, "This summit also holds paramount significance for our industry's history. It is a pivotal moment where industry leaders, innovators and visionaries came together to lay the foundation for a transformative future. He emphasized the industry’s vital role in building infrastructure that connects communities, drives economic growth, and shapes the future. He stated, “The decisions we make, the innovations we adopt and the roadmap we craft today will echo through the years, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come. Like the automotive industry, the construction equipment industry is in the middle of a transformative shift, moving from diesel to future automotive fuels and electric power. Together, we have the power to redefine industry norms and establish higher standards, ensuring that the industry thrives in a rapidly changing world while safeguarding the well-being of our workers, the efficiency of our processes, and the sustainability of our planet." Experts also outlined sustainability strategies at the summit that balance progress and preservation, emphasizing ICEMA's pivotal role in infrastructure development. The Technology Vision Roadmap 2035 was unveiled by Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari.
