Gadkari Allocates ₹6,621.62 Cr for Arunachal Pradesh Frontier Highway
Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari has announced an allocation of ₹6,621.62 crore for the construction of eight packages on National Highway-913, known as the Frontier Highway, in Arunachal Pradesh. The project aims to transition to an Intermediate Lane configuration using the EPC mode, covering a total length of 265.49 Km. The initiative includes packages focusing on various sections such as Huri-Taliha, Bile-Migging, Kharsang-Maio-Gandhigram-Vijaynagar, and Bomdila-Nafra-Lada.
Gadkari emphasized that these developments promise enhanced connectivity to border areas, fostering socio-economic growth and curbing migration in Arunachal Pradesh. The construction of the Frontier Highway is expected to facilitate reverse migration towards the border areas.
Additionally, these stretches are crucial for establishing essential road infrastructure connecting significant river basins, enabling the development of numerous Hydropower projects within the state. Designed to link uninhabited and sparsely populated areas of Upper Arunachal, the predominantly greenfield road is anticipated to boost tourism and accommodate increased traffic in the future.
