Japan Commits ₹12,814Cr Loan for 9 Infrastructure Projects in India
The Government of Japan has committed Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans totaling approximately ₹12,814 crore for nine projects across various sectors in India. The agreements were formalized through an exchange of notes between Vikas Sheel of the Finance Ministry and Suzuki Hiroshi, Japan's Ambassador to India. These projects encompass crucial initiatives such as road network connectivity improvement in the North East, construction of the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road, promotion of sustainable horticulture in Haryana, and climate change response in Rajasthan.
Additionally, the assistance includes support for the establishment of a medical college hospital in Nagaland, enhancement of urban water supply in Uttarakhand, and initiatives promoting startup and innovation in Telangana. This collaboration underscores Japan's commitment to bolstering India's infrastructure, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability efforts, fostering stronger bilateral ties between the two nations.
