Kalpataru Secures EPC Contract from Aramco for MGS-3 Expansion
Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), formerly known as Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited, has announced that it received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Aramco, a major energy company in Saudi Arabia, for executing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) work for three packages of the third expansion phase of the Master Gas System Network (MGS-3) in Saudi Arabia.
The scope of the EPC work includes laying over 800 kilometers of lateral gas pipeline. The exact contract value for the three packages will be determined upon contract execution.
The MGS-3 project aims to expand the existing gas network to provide gas supply to various industrial consumers in the region. This expansion is expected to enhance Saudi Arabia's ability to meet the growing energy demand and reduce reliance on liquid fuel burning, aligning with the country's goals for a diversified energy mix.
KPIL expressed delight in collaborating with Aramco to support energy security and reliability. With nearly two decades of experience in cross-country pipelines, processing facilities, refineries, and fertilizer plants, KPIL has successfully commissioned over 10,000 kilometers of oil, gas, and water pipelines. The company adheres to global best practices in project management, quality, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards.
Manish Mohnot, MD & CEO of KPIL, stated, "We are truly proud to be entrusted by Aramco for the MGS-3 project. This sizable EPC order underscores our capabilities and commitment to the oil and gas market in the Middle East. It strengthens our order book profile and positions our oil and gas business for robust growth. We are confident that upon completion, the project will contribute to Saudi Arabia's energy transition."
