DMRC’s Aerocity station to get longest underground platform
The upcoming Aerocity metro station on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Silver line, planned under Phase-IV, will boast the longest underground platform among all silver line metro stations. The platform's length has been designed to accommodate heavy passenger traffic, as the station will serve as a triple interchange facility. It will seamlessly connect the Airport Express line, the Delhi-Alwar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), and the new Silver line.
Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at DMRC, stated that while other underground stations on the Silver line are around 225 meters long, the platform at the Aerocity station will stretch to 289 meters. The station will be constructed 23 meters underground to ensure seamless connectivity with the other two lines, creating a transit network linking Faridabad, South Delhi, West Delhi, and the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The Aerocity station will have three entry/exit points, with one leading to the business hub of Aerocity and the other two connecting NH-8 and Mahipalpur to the station. The Tughlakabad-Aerocity line aims to meet the growing demand for connectivity and transportation in the Mehrauli-Badarpur, Chhatarpur Extension, and Mahipalpur areas.
