DRA-DMRC in Joint Venture Wins Bullet Train Contract
Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon, in collaboration with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, has been announced as the lowest bidder (L1) for the construction of the Thane Depot as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project. The joint venture's scope of work includes designing, civil and building works, inspection sheds, installation, testing, commissioning of the depot, and other associated activities in Maharashtra. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) had tendered the project under Package D-1, with an estimated construction deadline of 5.5 years for the Thane Depot, a crucial facility for maintaining and stabling Shinkansen train-sets. The depot, situated near Bharodi and Anjur villages in Maharashtra, will be the project's second-largest train depot, following the Sabarmati Depot under construction just north of Ahmedabad. Initially, the depot will feature four inspection lines (eight in the future), 10 stabling lines (31 in the future), an inspection bay, and a washing plant.
