Railways seals Rs 7,000 cr bullet trains deal with Japan
Indian Railways has finalized a deal with Japan, securing 18 state-of-the-art E5 series trains from Shinkansen Technology for the upcoming Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. Valued at Rs. 7,000 crore, the agreement includes technology transfer. These trains, built with the highest safety standards, are well-suited for India's climate and topography. Equipped with an automatic braking system for over-speeding, the Japanese firm will also supply the train rakes.
