Siemens & RVNL secure Rs 377-cr MMRDA’s contract
Siemens, in a joint venture with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), has secured a contract from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to electrify Mumbai Metro’s Line 2B. The consortium’s share for the project is Rs. 228 crore for Siemens and Rs. 149 crore for RVNL. The scope of work in the contract included manufacturing, installing, and commissioning of rail electrification solutions and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems for 20 stations and one depot. RVNL will handle the commissioning of Receiving Substations (RSS) solutions. Mumbai Metro Line 2B project is aimed at enhancing the city’s transportation infrastructure.
