NICDC and FITT-IITD Sign MoU to Boost India's Industrial Development
The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC) and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (FITT-IITD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to evaluate optimal locations for developing Greenfield Industrial Smart Cities in India. Led by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), this collaboration aims to leverage advanced technology and research expertise to attract investments, promote local commerce, and generate employment opportunities.
By utilizing spatial and analytical data tools like PM GatiShakti, the initiative aligns with India's vision to become a global manufacturing hub and emphasizes data-driven decision-making in sustainable urban planning and development. FITT-IITD will analyze various factors influencing location optimality, producing a comprehensive report to guide future urban planning decisions and facilitate the development of greenfield cities tailored to meet industry and society's evolving needs, supporting India's goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy and achieving "Viksit Bharat" (developed India).
