Crane Owners Association of India Organizes 11th AGM

Cowners came together for the 11th Annual General Meeting of Crane Owners Association of India (COAOI) on 29th September 2023 at the Taj Palace Hotel, Mumbai. The gathering included esteemed members of COAOI. SANY India was the event’s partner.
Premal Thaker, Honorable President, COAOI; Ashwin Gandhi, President Emeritus, COAOI; Deepak Garg, Managing Director, SANY India; and Sanjay Saxena, CEO-Sales & Operations, SANY India & South Asia, were invited on stage for lighting the lamp.
Hon. Secretary Jayantilal Gala, COAOI, welcomed the gathering and presented a brief overview of the annual account for FY 2022-2023, including the income earned through advertisement and interest on fixed deposit, the growth in income during the fiscal year, and brought to the notice that 35 new members had enrolled in COAOI during 2022-2023 (up from 30 new members in FY 2021-2022). He made a special mention of the purchase of an office for the Association at Chembur, Mumbai and expressed gratitude to members who had paid 5 years membership renewal fees in advance. He briefed all about the participation of COAOI in Bauma Conexpo India in New Delhi in January 2023, where visitors were made aware about the initiatives of COAOI for the improvement of the Indian crane industry and benefits of joining the COAOI family. He informed that COAOI had published a comprehensive members’ directory which was distributed to the visitors. The total number of COAOI members is currently 210 and thanked Premal Thaker for his contribution in taking COAOI to new heights during his tenure. He expressed gratitude to SANY India for its invaluable support and generous sponsorship and appreciated the dynamic leadership of Deepak Garg.
The members present proposed the appointment of Darpan Juthani & Co. as a chartered accountant firm for FY 2023- 2024. Mitesh Shethia, past President, COAOI, announced the new Executive Committee of COAOI for FY 2023-2025, and announced Premal Thaker as President, Bajrang Agarwal as Senior Vice President, Rajesh Makad as Vice President, Jayantilal Gala as Hon. Secretary, and Jayesh Sethia as Hon. Treasurer. The Hon. Executive Committee members’ names announced were Satyen Gandhi, Sanjay Vijan, Sunil Makad, Rajesh Poosarla, Akash Agarwal, and Mahavir Gupta. He announced the names of Raju Ozarkar, Jasbir Singh, Daljit Singh and Anand Deshpande as Invitee Committee Members.
Premal Thaker expressed his gratitude for re-electing him as the president, COAOI for another two years and extended a special thanks to esteemed members of COAOI. He assured the audience that the focus of the Association would be on initiatives that would boost growth of the crane industry in India and urged the members to provide better crane services to clients and to raise any issues that they may be facing, and to give their suggestions.
Ashwin Gandhi suggested that if a crane of any member meets with an accident, he should inform other members through a circular so that they can convey the same to their crane operators for taking extra precautions. A member raised a question on the issue related to crane insurance.
Premal Thaker felicitated Ashwin Gandhi for his service to the crane industry as retired from President Emeritus, while Mitesh Sethia felicitated Govind Ji Vador with a lifetime achievement award. Felicitations were extended to Deepak Garg, Vipin Pillai, Vinay Oza and Sanjay Saxena of Sany.
Manoj Chaudhari threw light on safe usage of cranes and stressed the need for training operators. “Let us all pledge to make our industry, zero-accident industry,” he said. Vipin Pillai gave a glimpse into the world of Sany and showed the company’s products and the technological advancements being planned.
Deepak Garg congratulated the Executive Committee for doing a wonderful job and also stressed upon the need for including a study on crane technology in ITIs, Polytechnics and Engineering colleges. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Bajrang Agarwal and the evening ended with a grand dinner.
