Hyderabad-based mineral processing manufacturing major Puzzolona, having identified new avenues of growth, launched 12 new products across mineral processing, concreting and road construction sectors.
The company has been keenly exploring fresh business opportunities by venturing into different CE segments such as road construction, for which it has launched milling machines of 1-1.2 and 2 meters. Moreover, adept at bringing value engineering to its products, Puzzolana has introduced 400 tph cone crushers, M-sand plant involving the wet process, with the hydro cyclone technology and stationery concrete pumps with s-valve technology for delivering exact pumping ratings.
Mr. Abhijeet Pai, President, Puzzolana Group, said, “Initial response to our milling machines is really encouraging from the market and we have secured few orders for them. The product has been very well accepted in certain geographies, and we are considering launching it in Bangalore, and maybe in the south-west region as well. No doubt, we are taking a measured approach by examining the market potential for products that would be required, before venturing into new product verticals and new regions.”
He added, “Puzzolona is evolving with its distinct marketing strategy. At Excon, we have branded the company as a crushing, concreting and road construction solutions provider, and we want to achieve the number one position in all the three verticals.
“We have three foundries for our mineral processing business. Since foundry is one of our core business, we continually do R&D towards improving the metallurgy of our crushing and screening plants for reduced wear and tear,” says Mr. Pai adding that “our manufacturing facilities together can produce 40 crushing plants in a month.
Puzzolana is positioned as the largest player in Asia’s mineral processing segment, and has a distribution tie-up with Tata International for promoting its crushing and screening plants in the African markets. These include Puzzolana’s stationary plants of 120 to 600 tph and 250 diesel electric track mounted plants used in the infrastructure, road and mining sectors. The plants will be promoted in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda and Tanzania, which are witnessing a surge in development of roads, railways, airports and townships.
In a recent development, Puzzolana has announced that it is setting up a new distribution network along with backward integrated manufacturing for its new business entity CMW, under which it will promote its concreting batch mix plants, and fixed form pavers. The concrete batching plants of 30-69-75-90-120-240 cum/hr, feature twin shaft mixers, and have a modular design for ease of transportation, quicker erection and dismantling.
Though the company is currently using mixers of common make, Mr. Pai informed that they will begin to stabilize the products, and may even produce the required components, if required.
