“We are going to go big on municipal solid waste and construction & demolition waste with the launch of our Terex Recycling Systems this year.” Jaideep Shekhar, MD - Asia & EMEAR, Terex MPS India

Growth through innovations
Through extensive product innovation, we have grown multi-fold in the last 12 years, starting from four models in 2009 to more than 80 models in 2022, covering various brands.

We introduced the latest industry 4.0 standards such as Telemetry across our equipment. Telemetry will provide customers with real time information on the performance of their Terex machines. We will soon begin development of state-of-the-art large capacity machines, which will further increase our capability to cater to the ever-growing demand for aggregates and will also export them.

From an environmental perspective, we are excited to work with the Indian Government and various municipal corporations on waste management projects. We strongly believe that we can offer our expertise in recycling processes to make a real and lasting impact. We strive to provide sustainable solutions that aim to reduce carbon footprint and our recently launched machines with fuel-efficient hybrid dual-powered technology will do just that.

New products & solutions
This year, we launched many new products such as the Franna FR 17 Pick and Carry Crane. The main USP of Franna brand is its safety features. Franna pick and carry cranes live up to their name with the strength and easy operation to pick up heavy loads and the articulated steering flexibility to move in tight spaces.

Our hybrid range of crushers and screeners give customers an alternative energy source, letting them choose which fuel to use depending on cost, location, and availability. This option will be of special interest for customers in areas where electricity is more cost effective than diesel fuel and on sites where electricity is the preferred energy source.

Our locally built Terex Cedarapids MVPX’s Cone Crushers are the leading force in compression crushers. These cone crushers simply pulverize everything that stands in the way of success and boasts numerous features that increase the machine’s productivity and ease of use. The complete MVPX line includes four different models in stationary or portable configurations, from 200 to 500 hp, processing up to 800 TPH and capable of handling sand and gravel, shot rock and recycled materials.

Launches ahead
Terex India is launching a smaller range of crushing machines such as jaw crushers and impact crushers under EvoQuip brand, in the sub 100 ton/hour capacity, which can be transported on a small truck or trailer. These machines are being developed to cater to projects in the North-East and Himalayan regions as well C&D crushing very close to cities.

Although we have been operating in the recycling business for some time now, we will be formally launching Terex Recycling Systems this year and we are going to go big on municipal solid waste and construction and demolition waste.

Challenges
The market is going strong despite the challenges in raw material supply, high freight rates, unavailability of containers etc. Our last FY, which ended in December 2021, saw a significant growth over 2020. This FY, we expect high double-digit growth.

We have a large team of design engineers based at our factory at Hosur and in our Global R&D center in Bangalore; they are constantly working on new models suited for the Indian conditions and as per the local requirements. We are also expanding our manufacturing facility at Hosur to meet the increased demand for our products.

Exports
The Indian manufacturing unit is the company’s global manufacturing hub and produces nearly 80 different machine models in India. It also exports the machinery to Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the USA.

We have added new products to our portfolio and developed new variants, even during these challenging times. Our newly launched Made in India Pick and Carry cranes at our Hosur facility are for the domestic market initially, and in a few years, we will start exporting them to select markets across the world.

We have invested in a service field force through our dealers, as well as at our end. The idea again is to ensure that all our machines operate safely and with minimum downtime.
