KEC International, which is a RPG Group entity in a recent cache, has secured orders to the tune of Rs. 914cr both from within and outside the country. In the domestic sector, the Power Grid Corporation has awarded Rs 219cr contract to lay 400-kV transmission line between Kurukshetra and Jalandhar and a 220-kV line from Jalandhar to Hamirpur in Himachal. Apart from this, it has also secured orders from existing transmission projects amounting to Rs 68cr. In the power systems business, KEC has secured a Rs 40cr order for setting up a 765-kV gas insulated substation (GIS) in Tamil Nadu from PowerGrid. This marks the company's entry into the 765-kV GIS substation space and has also won Rs 74cr orders for the supply of power and telecom cables. In the offshore arena, it secured orders worth Rs 73cr from Canada and for lattice towers and hardware from Canada, the US, Brazil and Mexico, totaling to Rs 115cr. In Indonesia, it has bagged a Rs 129cr order from the state electricity corporation for the design, supply and erection of a 150-kV transmission line. In Saudi Arabia, it secured contract for similar task worth Rs 196cr for a 380-kV transmission line.
