Metro Rail Company
Buoyed by the run-away success of the DMRC, the two industrial developmental authorities' nodal agencies of Uttar Pradesh, Noida and Greater Noida in a recent move has cleared a proposal of forming its own metro ra‎il construction company to build 29-km-long link between Noida City Centre and Greater Noida's Bodaki and has also allocated an initial corpus worth Rs. 1,000cr for the new entity, which has been named as Noida Metro Ra‎il Company (NMRC) to provide hassle free travelling to the masses commuting between two townships.

After completing the first project of NMRC with a stretch of 29-km, it will take up all future metro extension projects in the state. However, previously approved metro projects such as 3.9-km-long link from Kalindi Kunj to Botanical Garden and 6-km link from City Centre to Sector 62 towards NH-24 will be completed by the DMRC as planned earlier, Chairman, Rama Raman, said.

Dwelling in details, he added that the board has approved NMRC and will get UP government's official nod very soon and that NMRC will start functioning very shortly. Of the 29-km stretch, 19 kilometre will fall in Noida jurisdiction, and the remaining 10 kilometre stretch will be in the Greater Noida region and DMRC will work as a consultant for future projects but construction work will be carried out by NMRC only thereby Noida will be the fifth city to boast of its own metro rail company after Bangalore, Kochi, Jaipur and Chandigarh. In this connection, the authority has also written to the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), seeking funds as this link will connect Bodaki with Noida. Bodaki is the first industrial town, which is being developed by DMIC.
