Mahindra Lifespace Developers, which has already carved out a niche for itself after the setting up of its first Mahindra World City in Chennai, currently housing over 62 companies of global repute is all set to build its second World City in the same city involving an investment of Rs 4,000cr. In its attempt to achieve the target of building the mega city within the stipulated period, it is currently in the process of acquiring land on the northern fringes of Chennai for the proposed world class integrated mega city, CEO, Integrated Cities, Sangeeta Prasad said.

She said adding that the facility will be chiefly consisting of domestic tariff area (DTA) rather than the special economic zones (SEZ) as the player is eyeing engineering and manufacturing companies. In this connection, the company has carried out a detailed research during which it gathered feedback that foreign companies are eager to invest in Indian facilities for the longterm thereby opening up huge business and employment opportunities in the area, she added.
