National Textile Corporation
In its bid to revive the ailing National Textile Corporation (NTC), the Central government has decided to sell its land worth Rs 1,750cr in Uttar Pradesh. Its realty assets stretched across 11 places in UP and that of British India Corporation Ltd (BICL) in 35 places, said official sources claiming that the government will sell the land worth Rs 2,000cr of BIC and Rs 1,750cr of NTC to generate revenue to revive the corporation.

According to the cabinet secretary, Sanjay Kumar Panda, most of the land is leased by the state government and that unless the lease arrangement changes, it will not be possible to dispose of the land and in this connection the corporation is currently negotiating the matter with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and that the state government has agreed to the central government's scheme of things, he added.
