In order to iron out the minor differences between state and central government, the Union Railway ministry has decided to set up a joint committee with the Jharkhand government to expedite the completion of rail projects in the state, said an industry insider, claiming that the Hazaribagh-Koderma-Barkakana-Ranchi railway line of the East-Central Railway will be taken up by the committee. The mega rail infra project, which involves an investment worth Rs. 936cr, will be completed in one year with full cooperation from the state government.
It is worth mentioning here that the 79.7 km Koderma to Hazaribag Stage-I of the project was inaugurated by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on 20 February this year and that the next stage of the 60 km long stretch will be completed soon.
The entire route has nine stations, including two halts and also involves the construction of 119 big and small bridges on the route, while the number of road over bridges are said to be about 30, he added.
