The country's engineering and construction giant Larsen and Toubro's wholly owned subsidiary, Metallurgical and Material Handling (L&T-MMH) in a recent cache has secured orders worth Rs. 1,242cr both within and outside the country. In the domestic arena, L&T-MMH has won orders from HPCL-Mittal Energy and other add-on packages from existing customers, said official sources claiming that in the offshore arena the construction giant has won EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) orders from SENAAT General Holding Corporation, Abu Dhabi, for its 2,40,000 TPA pipe mill project and 20,000 TPA seamless copper tube plant project. The finished products from these plants will cater to the requirements of the oil & gas and utilities industries and that the orders won from SENAAT are clear signs of opening up of the international market in the metallurgical segment, they added.
