Close on the heels of inaugurating, the Mahindra World City club in Chennai recently, Mahindra Lifespaces has announced yet another project and second industrial township in Jaipur. In the new project, over 60 companies have taken up space in the 3,000-acre facility and 24 companies are in operation. The MWC at Chennai, a 1,500 acre industrial township, has three Special Economic Zones and Domestic Tariff Area housing school, 140-room hotel and residential space with 500 families and 2,000 homes under construction.
Out of the total number of companies in the SEZ, more than three-fourths are multinationals and the remaining are leading domestic players, MD & CEO, Anita Arjundas, said elaborating that about 40-50 acres of the saleable area is available for a few more companies. The Jaipur project is in the initial stage where companies are currently taking up space. A third such facility has been planned in Dholera, Gujarat, for which the company has entered into an agreement with the State Government. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra, said the MWC concept is to offer livelihood, living and lifestyle.
