Full filling the long standing demand of villagers living on the either side of the Gurgaon expressway, the Haryana government in a latest move cleared the construction of three underpasses at places like IFFCO Chowk, Signature Towers crossing and Rajiv Chowk in the heart of Gurgaon city, said an official spokesperson, adding that road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari has already given the go ahead signal to these projects entailing an investment worth Rs. 779cr.

In this connection, he added that the central government has agreed to pay 75% of the total cost whereas the remaining portion of the funds would be chipped in by the state government.

As a matter of fact, all these points have virtually become death trap for locals and road users alike as crossing road on these points takes anywhere between 30-45 minutes during peak hour traffic and that the construction of underpasses will go a long way in saving precious lives and time, he added.
