Maharashtra Infrastructure Projects
The state of Maharashtra, having size of Italy but double the population, is reportedly trying to revive long-dormant projects including a Mumbai airport, a port and a key coastal road over five to six years investing almost $16 billion.

This is in line with the Modi government's priority to accelerate economic growth by kick-starting infrastructure projects that had gathered dust, either because of an obstructive bureaucracy, a lack of private sector interest or in some cases, lengthy litigation as congested Mumbai is home to some of the most delayed projects in the country.

Fadnavis has travelled frequently over the last six months to attract big investors to Maharashtra, from Mercedes Benz to Foxconn, manufacturer of the Apple iPhone, encouraging companies -- from cars to technology -- to come and to bring their suppliers.
