Nashik Receives ₹145 Cr for Rural Infrastructure Development
Maharashtra government has allocated ₹145 crore from the district planning committee (DPC) to enhance infrastructure in Sinnar, Manmad, Bhagur, Ojhar, Igatpuri, and other towns in rural Nashik in the upcoming financial year. This allocation forms part of a larger general plan of ₹813 crore approved for the district for 2024-25. Municipal councils and nagar panchayats, including Manmad, Yeola, Nandgaon, Satana, Igatpuri, Trimbakeshwar, Chandwad, Sinnar, Dindori, Kalwan, Niphad, Devla, Peth, Surgana, Bhagur, and Ozhar, are expected to benefit from this special outlay. The funds will be distributed based on the population of each respective body according to the 2011 census. Nashik District Planning Officer Kiran Joshi highlighted that this allocation will facilitate developmental projects in urban areas, focusing on essential works necessary for their advancement. Additionally, there is a specified ceiling on the funds to ensure their optimal utilization for developmental purposes.
