PM launches Rs 450-cr cricket stadium in Varanasi
The Prime Minister has laid the foundation stone for an international Cricket Stadium in Varanasi, involving an investment of Rs 450 crore. The international cricket stadium is being built in Ganjari, Rajatalab in Varanasi, on an area covering over 30 acres. The thematic architecture of the stadium draws inspiration from Lord Shiva, featuring designs developed for crescent-shaped roof covers, trident-shaped floodlights and ghat steps-based seating arrangements. It will have the capacity to accommodate 30,000 spectators. In addition, the Prime Minister inaugurated 16 Atal Residential schools built across Uttar Pradesh, with the aim of further enhancing access to quality education. These schools, constructed at a cost of about Rs 1,115 crore, each cover an area of 10-15 acres with classrooms, sports grounds, recreational areas, a mini auditorium, hostel complex, mess and residential flats for the staff, among other facilities.
