PSP Project emerges L1 bidder for Rs. 357-cr dam project
PSP Projects has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1 bidder) for the development of the Dharoi Dam region in Dharoi, Gujarat, involving an investment of Rs 357.08 crore. In this regard, NTPC has identified at least nine states where it plans to build pumped hydro storage units with a total installed capacity of 14,000 MW (14 GW). Of the 14,000 MW, nearly 5,500 MW projects are suggested by the Central government, while the CPSU has identified the remaining 8,500 MW of PSP capacity across different states. These will be distributed across Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh. The states identified by the government for NTPC include Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. India has an estimated potential of 103 GW of PSP capacities, and the state governments are intensifying efforts to attract developers and generation companies to set up these projects.
