Survey of India and Genesys International partner for 'Digital Twins' of cities
The Survey of India (SOI) has entered a groundbreaking agreement with Genesys International, a private mapping company, to create 'digital twins' of major Indian cities and towns. Aligned with the national geospatial policy, this initiative aims to produce detailed three-dimensional maps of urban landscapes and physical assets by 2035. The digital twinning will aid in planning, policymaking, and disaster management, providing crucial details on property and infrastructure vulnerability. Genesys has already created digital twins of Ayodhya, Dharavi, Kochi, and Kanpur. The partnership leverages SOI's advanced national survey network, enhancing real-time location-based mapping with high accuracy for various geospatial applications.
