L&T secures Rs 500.94-cr track-work contracts for Bangalore metro's blue line
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded two track-work contracts worth Rs 500.94 crore by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) for the 56 km Line-5 (Blue Line) of the Bangalore Metro. The contracts involve the supply and construction of approximately 110 km of ballastless tracks for the main line, as well as ballasted tracks within the remodelled Baiyappanahalli Depot and Airport Depot at Shettigere. The Phase-2A (ORR line) and Phase-2B (airport line) of the Bangalore Metro will connect Silkboard-KR Puram-Bengaluru International Airport, encompassing 30 stations along the outer ring road and NH-44. The contracts were awarded in two packages, with T1 covering the ORR line and a section of the airport line, estimated at Rs 268 crore, and T2 spanning from Kempapura Metro station to Airport Metro station, with an estimated cost of Rs 232 crore.
