Mumbai Metro plans 5-km expansion to Navy Nagar, DPR submitted
The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for expansion of the underground Metro Line-3 to Navy Nagar, covering a five-km stretch. The DPR has been submitted to the state government for approval. The MMRC recently conducted the first long-distance train movement, covering 17 km from MIDC to Vidyanagari Metro station and back to SEEPZ, as part of Phase-I operations. Construction of the extended Metro line will begin after the completion and commencement of commercial operations of the existing Line-3, currently spanning 33 km from Colaba to SEEPZ. Phase-II operations are anticipated to start in 2024.
