Noida-Ghaziabad metro rail link back on track
The gap between the RapidX corridor in Ghaziabad, and the metro’s Blue and Red lines will finally be bridged with the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) deciding to revive the Noida Electronic City-Sahibabad metro line, a proposal that had been lying in limbo due to the heavy cost of construction. The financing issue hasn’t yet been sorted out, but GDA is planning to secure a loan from the NCR Planning Board for the corridor. To facilitate this, the GDA has decided to commission a DPR to DMRC. GDA Vice Chairman RK Singh stated that the project report plans a 5.8-km metro line via Indirapuram, and a joint survey was carried out by DMRC and GDA.
