PMRDA launches work on metro lines 4 & 5 in Pune
The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has initiated groundwork for the construction of 4 & 5 metro lines after receiving approval from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to implement Phase 2 of the Metro rail project, which includes an additional route of 113.23 km. PMRDA is already in the process of developing Metro Line 3, connecting Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar. It has also received DPR from the Delhi Metro Rail Cooperation (DMRC) for Metro Line 4, which will extend from Shivajinagar to Loni Kalbhor with potential extensions towards Saswad and Swargate. Additionally, Maha Metro has also prepared the DPR for Pune Metro Line 5, which will cover the route from Khadakwasla to Kharadi.
