Mr. Asit Patel, born in 1968 in USA, is the Managing Director of Ammann Apollo India, a joint venture between Ammann of Switzerland and Apollo of India. He graduated in USA but unlike scores of others decided to return to India in 1995 to contribute his best to the nation. He joined Gujarat Apollo Industries, founded by his father Mr. Anil Patel, then a reputed but a small player in the road construction equipment business. Under his stewardship, the company achieved many a milestone and in the process, the revenue increased from $2 mn in 1995 to $65 mn in 2013.
He is responsible for bringing in the latest technology in the road construction equipment sector through technology tie-up with leading players in the world. His commitment to deliver international quality at competitive prices resulted in Apollo being rated among the most trusted brands in India. His vision in taking the company's presence pan India, investments in IT – SAP & CRM for achieving the goal of customer delight, created a niche position for the company.
His ability to encourage risk taking, unique style of management by wandering around, people centric approach and sheer enthusiasm are the driving forces behind the company's achievements.
Mr. Patel always looks to improve the lifestyle of the people and formed a joint venture with Johnson Filtration Systems to offer high technology yet economical solutions in ground water management, a scarce resource in India.
Mr. Patel is a strong believer in the theory of evolution and the result is the joint venture with Ammann of Switzerland. For him it is not about making profits but delivering the best for the Indian customers. He has promised to himself that he would be the "Best Son" and is living up to it. Mr. Patel is married and has three sons. His family is into various activities of philanthropy and has invested in education in their native district of Mehsana in Gujarat to provide quality education and training.
