SJVN Gets Approval for 8,778 MW Hydro and Renewable Joint Ventures
SJVN, the power producer, has received government approval for establishing four joint venture firms, collectively contributing 8,778 MW in hydro and renewable projects across India and Nepal. The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) and the Ministry of Power have endorsed SJVN's proposal to create these joint ventures. SJVN will lead three JVs, with another one being led by its subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy. The ventures encompass partnerships with entities such as Maharashtra State Power Generation Company, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Navyuga Engineering Company, Nepal Electricity Authority, GMR Energy, and Assam Power Development Company. These collaborations mark SJVN's strategic expansion into diverse energy sectors, including hydro, thermal, solar, and wind.
