Indian Railways completes 1176 km of Western Dedicated Freight Corridor
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the successful completion of construction on 1,176 km of the 1,506 km Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). Connecting Jawaharlal Nehru Port Terminal to Dadri, the corridor traverses through Gujarat, passing key districts such as Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara. The DFC is poised to boost industrial activities in the region, leveraging infrastructure like industrial corridors, townships, freight terminals, logistic parks, and container depots. It aims to enhance connectivity between western ports and hinterland industries, reducing transit time and logistic costs for users.
