RITES submits alignment option report for Tricity mega metro project
Rail India Technical & Economic Services (RITES) has presented the Alignment Option Report (AOR) to the Chandigarh administration for the ambitious Tricity mega metro project, projecting an investment of ₹11,000 crore. The proposed Phase 1 spans 89 km and comprises three corridors, featuring elevated and underground sections. The 13 km Madhya Marg corridor in Phase 1 will be fully elevated. Phase 2, covering 25 km, will commence after the completion of Phase 1 corridors. The Tricity Metro, managed by the Unified Metro Transportation Authority (UMTA), spans Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali/New Chandigarh, with a total of 101 km.
