KfW to grant €500mn for Bengaluru Metro Expansion
Germany's KfW, an investment and development bank, is set to sign a €500 million agreement to aid the expansion of Bengaluru Metro. This financial assistance, comprising loans and grants, will support the construction of new lines and provide technical expertise for the Namma Metro project. KfW, actively involved in sustainable mobility projects in India, has previously funded metro expansions in Mumbai and Nagpur. This aligns with the Green and Sustainable Development Partnership (GSDP) between India and Germany established in 2022. KfW's past involvement includes a €545 million loan for Mumbai Metro expansion in 2020 and ongoing support for various metro projects across the country.
