Kochi Metro Phase II gets boost with ₹24 cr additional Funds
The Kochi Metro's Phase II development, connecting JLN Stadium to Kakkanad, receives a boost as the state government allocates an additional ₹24 crore for preparatory works from JLN Stadium to Palarivattom. Initially sanctioned at ₹354.57 crore, the funds cover land acquisition and preparatory tasks for the 11.2 km long Pink Line. Responding to demands from Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) and revenue authorities, the government has granted a revised administrative sanction of ₹378.57 crore, facilitating the completion of preparatory works along the specified stretch. The elevated corridor will host 11 stations, with Infopark station being the largest on the Phase II track, situated on government land.
