UP Govt Allocates ₹16,000 cr for Noida Airport Rapid Rail Corridor
The Uttar Pradesh government has approved ₹16,000 crore for the rapid rail corridor that will connect Noida Airport with Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is currently working on a Detailed Project Report (DPR), which is expected to be completed by March 2024. The proposed rail corridor will enhance connectivity between the two airports and other parts of Delhi, reducing travel time to approximately 80 minutes. Passengers will also have the option to connect to the Delhi-Alwar Rapid Rail through Sarai Kale Khan, providing additional convenience. The Noida airport link will branch out from Ghaziabad station, which is an interchange station for the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail. The Noida airport is expected to be operational by the end of the year.
