MMRDA Gets Approval for MTHL Connector Joining Chirle-Pune Expressway
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has received approval for a proposed connector for the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) at Chirle, to be linked with the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Estimated at ₹1000 crore, the project aims to reduce travel time between south Mumbai and Pune by an hour.
The connector will consist of two six-lane elevated roads, connecting Chirle-Gavhan Phata and Palaspe to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Scheduled for completion in 30 months, it offers an alternative route for travelers, avoiding the congested Sion-Panvel Highway and Vashi Toll Post.
