Nitin Gadkari Initiates 8 NH Projects Worth ₹2,217 Crore in Tanakpur
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stones for 8 National Highway projects totaling ₹2,217 crore in Tanakpur, Uttarakhand. These projects aim to enhance connectivity and facilitate tourism, with initiatives such as widening roads and rehabilitating key routes.
Key projects include the widening of Kathgodam to Nainital road and Kashipur to Ramnagar road, which will improve access to tourist destinations like Nainital, Manaskhand temples, and Jim Corbett National Park. Additionally, the widening of Kangarchina to Almora road and Kanda Marg will boost tourism to Bageshwar and facilitate access to Bagnath and Baijnath temples.
Furthermore, safety measures such as the construction of walls on National Highway 87 extension and repair work on bridges over Saryu and Gomdi rivers in Bageshwar district are underway. These initiatives not only benefit tourists but also improve local commuting and strengthen the economy while ensuring environmental preservation.
