₹1,742.11 Cr Allocated for NH-6 Section in Mizoram
Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has approved an outlay of ₹1742.11 crore for constructing the 4-lane N. Kawnpui (N.Mualvum) - Sairang section on NH-6 in Mizoram. Spanning 24.41 km, the project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode as part of the NH(O)-NE project.
Gadkari emphasized that the project aims to ensure smooth traffic flow, bypassing local congestion in developed areas and enhancing road safety. The initiative particularly targets alleviating congestion in Aizawl city by avoiding heavily populated areas and reducing the length of the existing National Highway by 25 kilometers, from Vairengte to Sairang.
