BMRCL Plans 250-Meter Skywalk with Travelator in Bengaluru
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has unveiled plans for a 250-meter skywalk linking the Yellow and Blue line Metro networks, featuring Namma Metro's first travelator installation.
The initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion at the Central Silk Board Junction, with construction of three out of five ramps expected to be finished by May's end. This will ease traffic flow from Jayanagar-BTM Layout to HSR Layout and Electronics City. BMRCL anticipates that completing these ramps will alleviate congestion at the Silk Road Junction, where Outer Ring Road intersects with Hosur Road.
Additionally, the process has begun for building India's tallest sky deck, with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) initiating tenders for Detailed Project Reports (DPR) to determine construction costs for the ambitious 250-meter-long sky deck.
