Gujarat extends scheme to boost cities infrastructure by 3 yrs
Gujarat government has announced the extension of Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana for an additional three more years, covering from 2024-25 to 2026-27. Under this scheme, funds are provided to cities and towns to bolster their infrastructure facilities. The scheme was initially announced in 2009-10 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Gujarat’s establishment. Over the past 13 years, more than 2.84 lakh projects amounting to Rs 48,736 crore have been sanctioned under the scheme. A Budget of Rs 57,000 crore has been sanctioned to the flagship scheme thus far.
