Nagpur to get Rs.2,400-cr multi modal international cargo hub
The Union government has planned to build a Multi Modal International Cargo Hub and Airport (MIHAN) project at an investment of Rs. 2,400 crore in Nagpur, informed Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. The project will be expanded towards Gurgaon near Samruddhi Expressway and Hingna and the funds have already been cleared for the project. Moreover, UAE's Lulu Group has planned to set up an international convention centre at MIHAN, and Persistent Systems is also setting up a unit, with huge job avenues. The Minister further informed that apart from eliciting interest for Nagpur international airport modernisation project work, a Netherlands-based firm would also start a garbage-to-CNG conversion project within the city. Furthermore, the old grain market in Nagpur is earmarked for transformation into a modern space with ample parking, aligning with MIHAN's status as the flagship project of the Maharashtra Airport Development Company.
