KfW Bank approves ₹4,189-cr funds to Mumbai Metro
Germany's development bank has agreed to provide financial assistance of ₹4,189 crore to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the expansion of the Mumbai metro network. The loan will be utilized for the installation of signals, electrical systems, and related projects on Line-4 and Line-4A, which are part of the Mumbai metro network. Line-4 will connect Wadala-Thane-Kasarvadavali, while Line-4A will run between Kasarvadavali-Gaimukh. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority is currently undertaking various projects in the Mumbai metropolitan region (MMR), which includes coastal roads, bullet trains, bridges, elevated roads, expressways, and the metro. These projects require significant investments, and the MMRDA is raising funds through loans to finance them. The Green Line of the Mumbai metro network includes Line-4, which will be 32.32 km long and provide an alternative public transport connectivity for Thane city with Mumbai.
