PM Modi to Inaugurate Ambitious Railway Infrastructure Projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate significant railway infrastructure projects on February 26, including the foundation stone laying ceremony for 550 Amrit Bharat stations and nearly 1,500 road overbridges and underbridges across various states.
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to enhance facilities at railway stations by developing rooftop plazas and city centers, with an allocated budget of ₹40,000 crore. Additionally, the scheme encompasses improvements such as better access, waiting halls, toilets, lift/escalators, cleanliness, free WiFi, and local product kiosks, among others.
Moreover, the event will recognize the contributions of approximately 50,000 school students who participated in speech, essay, and poetry competitions organized by Indian Railways on the theme "2047 - Viksit Bharat ki Railway" across 4,000 schools. Prizes will be distributed virtually to the winners during the function, which will be attended by officials from over 2,000 railway stations.
