MoRTH Set to Achieve Record Road Construction Milestone
The Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways (MoRTH) is on track to achieve its highest-ever road construction target, aiming to complete 13,000 kilometers of four-lane and access-controlled high-speed highways by the end of the fiscal year. Secretary Anurag Jain highlighted the remarkable progress, with 7,600 kilometers already completed as of January, signaling the potential for reaching the ambitious target. The department, led by Nitin Gadkari, has significantly increased the pace of road construction, aiming to lay more than 35 kilometers of roads daily. The statistics indicate a substantial increase in four-lane road construction compared to previous years, with rigorous monitoring and review systems ensuring construction quality. Efforts to address black spots on roads are also underway, with completion expected for many by June this year, reflecting the government's commitment to improving road safety and infrastructure nationwide.
