U’khand inks Rs 18,850-cr MoUs at Delhi Investment Summit
The Uttarakhand government has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 18,850 crore with investors from diverse sectors during a road show of Global Investor Summit 2023 in New Delhi. The highest amount of Rs. 15,000 was committed by the JSW Neo Energy Limited, which plans to develop two pumped storages of 1,500 MW each in Almora. Additionally, MoUs worth Rs 800 crore were signed with Yatharth Hospital, Rs 500 crore with DS Group, Rs 250 crore with Dixon Technology, Rs 1,000 crore with Radisson Group, Rs 800 crore with Oberoi Group and Rs 500 crore with SLG. The state’s CM informed that Investment Facilitators have been appointed sector-wise for the convenience of investors. They will be a single point contact for those investing more than Rs 5,000 crore, and will assist in obtaining NOCs from various departments. Among others, the scheme proposes to build two reservoirs in a 16 km stretch of Kosi river to provide drinking water and irrigation facilities for a significant population. These projects will be developed over the next five to six years.
